Bangkok
is invaded by an intrusive, antidemocratic, harmful, obnoxious, invasive, noise
pestilence. While the expression of opinion should be sacrosanct, this
cacophonous attack on our quiet is not a legitimate tactic. It is an insult to
intelligence, a denial of dialogue, an attack on civilised value, and a danger
to our valuable sense of hearing. Express opinion, yes. Hold up banners and
declarations, yes. But spare us this plague of noise of which we already have a
surfeit.
